Fluid Bar & Kitchen

We made a mistake. In fact, we made several. First up, we didn't do any research beforehand and entrusted the sacred responsibility of pub choice to a friend. Secondly, when the aforementioned friend failed to make a choice, we went into a sports bar close to St James Park. It's the location that saves this bar from the ignominy of getting a flat zero. If you're not a football fan then you may go ahead and consider this a zero anyway. The atmosphere was stale: it's a modern, soulless bar full of people longing for a nice pint and a packet of pork scratchings. Sadly, neither were available. The beer was, to put it mildly, shocking - no cask ale and the Thwaites Smooth tasted off. The best option was a bottle of Newcastle Brown... well when in Rome. Eventually we made the decision that GBP3.50 for a plastic cup of Coors inside the football ground was a better option - and that speaks volumes.
